If your Fargo DTC4000 is breaking ribbons, try the following:
Run a self test from the front panel of the printer to determine if the issue is with the printer or your software/computer
1. Try a different ribbon
2. Calibrate the ribbon sensor
3. Update the printer driver and firmware to the latest on Fargo’s web site
4. Try different cards
5. Verify that you are using the correct power supply
6. Manually clean the rollers with Fargo 82133 cleaning card
7. Lower the dye sub intensity in the print driver
